Hi, I'm rachel!

I am a pediatric occupational therapist with a passion for holistic wrap around care. My desire is to help my clients become confident and self-aware individuals who can successfully implement strategies for a lifetime filled with balance and security. I am passionate about the lasting impacts of childhood on adult life, and I strive to help children develop a stable foundation for a healthy and happy life for years to come. Furthermore, I am skilled in careful attunement to the unique personalities and profiles of my clients allowing me to create individualized therapeutic intervention. I realize treatment goes beyond a therapy session, and I greatly value the importance of supporting my clients, caregivers, and other valued persons in my clients’ lives to facilitate a comprehensive approach.

I look forward to creating meaningful relationships with you during the “Winding Rhoades” of your lives!

I have experience working in multiple settings, including outpatient pediatrics, school-based, acute care, and in-patient rehab. I am skillful in addressing regulation, engagement, sensory processing, feeding, primitive reflex integration, handwriting, developmental milestones, strength, and coordination. I have experience with various populations and profiles such as autism, down syndrome, ADHD, trauma, developmental delays, sensory processing disorder, and visual motor/spatial/perception differences.

I earned my doctorate degree in occupational therapy from Wingate University graduating summa cum laude. During my final semester, I completed a case study on pediatric private practice ownership and entrepreneurship as an occupational therapist. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in biology and a minor in cognitive science. Go Heels! I am a Charlotte native having lived in its suburbs for a majority of my life. My favorite occupations are spending quality time with my husband and dog, baking and cooking, exercising, drinking coffee, crafting, reading, spending time at the ocean or lake, and exploring!
